In these workshops I focus on the body's fascinating ability to adapt, shift and transform; Approaching the moving body as a thinking articulate body withits own source of images, physical qualities, humour and ideas to choose between; Looking at both, how we can apply this to extend and deepen our own movement possibilities and also to how we can use this in live improvisation as alert, playful performers.
This workshop involves therefore, both a situation for research and also for improvisation. Working both individually and in groups, we willzoom in on specific details in the form of studies and sketches and then zoom out again, integrating the work into open improvisation sessions.
Within the performance set-up, I give attention to the character, intention and humour of the dancer, as both a personal source of material and as a big influence on the timing, musicality and conviction of the movement.
